UV Absorbers

Mayzo provides a variety of UV absorbers, which are useful to protect adhesives, plastics, coatings, and elastomers from the damaging effects of outdoor weathering that result from exposure to ultraviolet light. As their name implies, these additives function by competitive absorption of damaging UV light. Combinations of UV absorbers with other kinds of light stabilizers (for example hindered amine light stabilizers, or HALS) are often used in order to attain the best resistance to weathering.

Solid, high molecular weight benzotriazole UV absorber with very low volatility

Recommended for use in engineering plastics processed at high temperatures such as polycarbonate

Excellent choice for content protection when used in PET packaging

FDA-cleared* for use in polycarbonate and PET in food contact applications

Useful in coatings cured at high temperatures (e.g. coil and powder coatings), especially in combination with hindered amine light stabilizers such as BLS 292
