Non–Silicone Release Coatings
Mayzo provides a variety of non-silicone release coatings for pressure sensitive and self-adhesive substrates (PE, PP, PET, PVC, Cloth, Foil, and Paper), packaging tapes, heat transfer films/tapes, and protective films. They can be used with hot melt (SIS/SBS) applications, acrylic, and natural rubber.
Solvent-based Release Coatings for Pressure Sensitive Tapes, Labels, and Films
Solvent-based Release Coatings Products List
Benefits:
High purity provides clean release without ghosting
100% dry powder
Based on polyvinyl octadecyl carbamate (PVODC) and polyvinyl stearyl
carbamate (PVSC) chemistries
One step dilution process
Dilutable with aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents
and esters
Narrow melting point range assures consistent properties
Release effects remain stable after oven aging
Very low levels of solids needed, thus cost efficient
Does not require high temperature processing
Pre-dissolved solids for reduced time at use point, less waste
and mixing accuracy
A special heptane blend is available for use in non-HAP applications
Liquid versions especially suited for "Siat", or similar, printing presses
(The “Siat” name is registered to the M.J. Maillis Group)
Water-based Release Coatings for Pressure Sensitive Tapes, Films & Labels
Water-based Release Coatings Products List
Mayzo’s water-based release coatings represent a "greener" alternative to traditional solvent-based products. Use of water-based release coatings can help to reduce VOC emissions as well as reduce concerns of worker safety associated with the use HAP solvents such as toluene.
Benefits:
Based on acrylate, polyvinyl acetate / acrylate, fluoro-acrylate,
fluoro-phosphate ester, modified polyurethane, polyester / acrylic
and modified starch chemistries
Recyclable & Repulpable
Wide release levels
FDA Approved for indirect food contact (See product list)
Printable (See product list)
Uses include masking tape, paper, and "Sticky Note" type applications
Specialty Products
EPX-2 Primer
To be used as an adhesion promoter before printing on tape surface that have
been previously release coated. Also, improves adhesion on untreated or
corona treated polypropylene films.
RA-B100 Blade Lubricant
A non-silicone, water-based lubricant for tape slicing and slitter-rewinder
machines.
