Non–Silicone Release Coatings
Mayzo provides a variety of non-silicone release coatings for pressure sensitive and self-adhesive substrates (PE, PP, PET, PVC, Cloth, Foil, and Paper), packaging tapes, heat transfer films/tapes, and protective films. They can be used with hot melt (SIS/SBS) applications, acrylic, and natural rubber.

Solvent-based Release Coatings for Pressure Sensitive Tapes, Labels, and Films
Non–Silicone Release Coatings Benefits:
- High purity provides clean release without ghosting
- 100% dry powder
- Based on polyvinyl octadecyl carbamate (PVODC) and polyvinyl stearyl carbamate (PVSC) chemistries
- One step dilution process
- Dilutable with aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents and esters
- Narrow melting point range assures consistent properties
- Release effects remain stable after oven aging
- Very low levels of solids needed, thus cost efficient
- Does not require high temperature processing
- Pre-dissolved solids for reduced time at use point, less waste and mixing accuracy
- A special heptane blend is available for use in non-HAP applications
- Liquid versions especially suited for “Siat”, or similar, printing presses

Release effects remain stable after oven aging.
Excellent compatibility with fats and oils.
Cost efficient. Requires a lower quantity than silicone release coatings. 0.01 to 1.0 grams of Escoat® P-20 Solids for one square meter of film is sufficient. Excellent release can be obtained using between 0.5 – 2.0% solids material in toluene, depending on film, coating equipment and desired release levels. Only needs a nearmonomolecular film.
100% dry powder.
No fire hazard or special red-label storage area required for Escoat® P-20 Solids dry powder.
One step dilution process. Properly diluted solution will not gel.
Does not require high temperature processing that is typically needed for silicone coatings.

Water-based Release Coatings for Pressure Sensitive Tapes, Films & Labels
Mayzo’s water-based release coatings represent a “greener” alternative to traditional solvent-based products. Use of water-based release coatings can help to reduce VOC emissions as well as reduce concerns of worker safety associated with the use HAP solvents such as toluene.

Advantages: Offers a low noise release. The smooth release properties are superior to PVODC release coatings.
Cost Efficient. Requires a smaller amount of material than silicone release coatings. Excellent release can be obtained using as little as 0.5% solids concentration, depending on film, adhesive, coating equipment and desired release levels. Only a near monomolecular film is required to achieve excellent results.
Release effects are unaffected at temperatures up to 350°F.
Unlike silicone, no diffusion into the adhesive means no contamination of the finished product.
